Tamarama Beach

Protected between two headlands is this one kilometer stretch of ocean beach, just south of Bondi. This is a popular spot for the locals to head out and grab some sun. Fashionable Tamarama has been unofficial nickname of ‘glamourama’, this is the place you come if you want to be seen.

The beach is popular for both swimming and surfing. It is patrolled most days. Before you take a dip be warned: Tamarama the infamous reputation of being the most dangerous beach in New South Wales.

The geography of the headlands and the very deep water lead to some very strong rips. These conditions are also what create some of the excellent surfing that draw many to Tamarama. There are reportedly more people rescued by surf lifesavers at Tamarama than any other beach.

Close to the beach you will find pretty parks and picnic areas.

Tamarama is 7km east of Sydney
