This one kilometre stretch of ocean beach just south of Bondi
is protected between two headlands. This is a popular spot for the locals to head out and grab some sun. Fashionable Tamarama has been unofficially nicknamed 'glamourama', and this is the place you come if you want to be seen. The suburb's beach is popular for both swimming
and surfing and is patrolled most days. Before you take a dip, be warned: Tamarama is infamous for being the most dangerous beach in New South Wales. The geography of the headlands and the very deep water lead to some very strong rips.
These also create some of the excellent surfing conditions that draw many to Tamarama. There are reportedly more people rescued by surf lifesavers at Tamarama than any other beach. Address: Tamarama, NSW, 2026 .
