Sydney offers several spots for kitesurfing on both the northern and southern suburbs beaches.
On the south side, Brighton and Dolls Point offer flat water kiting close to the CBD. A bit further south Cronulla beach has waves but is still an option for kiting. Just south of Cronulla is Kurnell which has flat water kiting. Water temperatures in winter get down to around 15 degrees centigrade and up to 22 degrees in summer. Other areas within Botany Bay are also suitable for flat water kiting.
Northern beaches Long Reef, Collaroy and Palm Beach are all suitable for kiting. It’s rare for flat water but waves are typically only up to one metre so are suitable for anyone progressing to waves. Water temperatures are similar to those experienced on the southern beaches.
