Shelly Beach

A short walk from Manly is this protected, north facing beach. Many visitors to Sydney take the Circular Quay ferry to Manly to spend a morning there, then take the picturesque fifteen minute walk here for an afternoon of relaxation on the beach. The calm waters make it a favourite with families and swimmers.

Scuba diving is a popular activity here. The area is a protected aquatic reserve, so fishing isn’t permitted, allowing for multitudes of marine life to prosper. There are Scuba Diving schools in the area which hire out equipment and also arrange lessons. This protected beach is ideal for beginners.

For bushwalkers, there is a track which makes its way around the headland, offering good views.

A restaurant and kiosk back on to the beach, perfect for a  quick snack. There are also free gas BBQs, showers and toilets.

There is metered parking available.
