Rocks Discovery Museum

The Rocks Discovery Museum is a free museum that tells the story of the Rocks area of Sydney from pre European settlers to the present day. The museum itself is housed in a restored 1850s sandstone warehouse.

The exhibits in the museum capture the history of the Rocks area of Sydney and use interactive modern technology to bring the history and stories to life. Many of the exhibits focus on the people who lived and worked in the area and made the Rocks their home over the centuries.

The museum hosts Friday Lunchtime Talks every Friday at noon. The talks give a more personal retelling of some of the history of the area.

The Rocks Discovery Museum is open seven days a week from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The museum is closed Good Friday and Christmas Day.
