If you are interested in how things work you will love the Powerhouse Museum. There is a strong emphasis on technology, but a range of interactive exhibits which explore many facets of the world around us. For kids, there are many exhibits that also have educational value.
However, expect to see much more than science at work, there are also often exhibition which feature items of social and cultural interest.
While there are several permanent exhibitions, there are also temporary exhibitions and activities which regularly change. A day at the powerhouse museum could include seeing an amazing light show, playing a musical instrument you’ve never heard of and listening to a seminar on how a steam engine works. As all of these activities are constantly changing, no two visits will be the same.
Design, ecology and engineering all feature in the permanent exhibitions. There are several seminars and activities that can be joined that change throughout the year.
