Palm beach

One of Sydney’s iconic beaches, Palm Cove is located at the end of a peninsula, and forms part of the northern beaches. Palm Beach is definitely a place to be seen, there are many hip cafes and boutique shops. Make sure to catch a glance at some of the palatial homes in the area.

A lot of the beach is quite exposed to the elements, so keep an eye out for rips. The extreme ends of the beach are slightly more protected. Stick to the Southern end for swimming and the Northern end for surfing, and of course keep between the flags.

Those who enjoy a walk and a good lookout should head up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse, at the peak you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the area. The walk itself is not too difficult.

The beach is patrolled some days and there is also a fifty meter lap pool.

Palm Beach is around one hours drive north of Sydney. There are buses which service the area.
