Paddington is a busy area with bars and fashion outlets built around Oxford Street with a large Gay community. Paddington is locally known as Paddo. Paddington is about 30 minutes by bus from Circular Quay. Paddington is bordered to the west by Darlinghurst, to the east by Centennial Park and Woollahra, to the north by Edgecliff and Kings Cross and to the south by Moore Park.
A feature of Paddington are the Victorian terraces with cast iron detailing. Paddington has many art galleries mainly found on Oxford Street and Glenmore Road, William Street and Five Ways.
Paddington Town Hall was built in the 1800s with a clock tower 32 metres high is a major landmark for Paddington.
The Sydney Cricket Ground and Sydney Football Stadium are located in Moore Park. Tours are available of the Sydney Football Stadium and there is a museum at the Sydney Cricket Ground Museum. The Football Stadium is the home of the Sydney Roosters, NSW Waratahs and Sydney FC.
Paddington markets every weekend are very busy and bring plenty of action to Paddington. Held in the grounds of the Paddington Uniting Church on Oxford Street.
