Sydney markets

Sydney Markets is the home of many of Sydney’s fresh produce and community markets. The Markets have grown from humble dockside beginnings over 200 years ago to the internationally recognised markets of today.

The choice and range of produce and merchandise available are extensive and offer competitive quality and price. The markets house both wholesale and retail markets. Familiar names can be found here such as Paddy’s Markets, but generally Sydney Markets offer more of the traditional market feel.

Located in Flemington and Haymarket, the sites are easily accessible by car, rail, bus and monorail & lightrail (Haymarket only). Parking is available on site for a small fee. Access to the site is 24 hours but most of the market trading is conducted between 06:00am and 11:00am Monday to Friday.

The Produce Market is open 06:00am to 12:00noon Monday to Friday.
The Growers Market is open 06:00am to 10:30am Monday to Friday (closing at 09:30 on Fridays)
The Flower Market is open 05:00am to 11:00am Monday to Saturday.

Balmain Market
Second hand books, art, jewellery and contemporary homeware's and held every Saturday from 8 - 4. St. Andrews Church at Curtis Road Balmain.

 

Bondi Beach Market
Fashion at low prices, second had clothing, art, jewellery and held every Sunday from 10 - 4 with arts and crafts. Bondi Beach Public School, Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach.

Farmers Markets
Popular with local chefs and has produce from all over New South Wales and open on Wednesday and Saturdays. Fox Studios, Redfern.

Fringe Market
Every saturday on Paddington's Oxford Street. Oxford Street.

Glebe Market
Held every Saturday from 10 - 4 is a well known alternative market. Lots of clothing, arts, crafts,places to eat and a a good grassy area for the kids. School Grounds, Glebe Point Road, Glebe.

Kings Cross Rotary Markets
Held every Sunday at El Alamein Fountain, Fitzroy Gardens, Kings Cross.

Manly Arts and Crafts Market
Held every Saturday and Sunday with plenty of Australian arts and crafts and located at Sydney Road, Manly, easily reached using the Manly ferry.

Newtown Designers Market
A fashion market where new designers sell their creations. Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, 3rd Sunday of Month.

North Sydney Markets
Clothes and homewares on the second saturday of the month. Miller Street, North Sydney.

Organic Food Market
Open every Saturday and specializing Organic produce. Orange Grove Public School, Leichardt.

Paddy's Market
Paddy’s Market have been operating since the 19th Century and has lots of things for sale, and even a few bargains occasionally.The markets as named Paddy as most of the first shoppers were poor Irish immigrants and a place of entertainment in the early days of settlement. Corner of Thomas and Hay Streets and is open from Thursday until Sunday and on Public Holidays; on Thursdays from 10 – 6 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 – 4.30. Hay Street Haymarket. The market also operates at Flemington on Friday and Sunday.

Paddington Market
Fashion, toys, jewellery and antiques and held every Saturday from 10- 4. 395 Oxford Street, Paddington.

The Rocks Market

Surry Hills Markets
A monthly market with a lot of secondhand and handmade goods. Held on the first Saturday of the month. Shannon Reserve,Crown Street, Surry Hills.

Sydney Fish Markets
Fresh local fish and all the action can be viewed from the public galleries in the early morning. Sydney Fish Market, Blackwattle Bay (02 9004 1100).

Sydney Flower Markets
A wholesale market but the public art also welcome, closed on Sunday. Off Parramatta Road, Outer West.

The Sydney Opera House Markets
The market is open on Sundays from 9 - 5. with Australian arts and crafts. Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, Sydney.
