If you a lover of the outdoors then a visit to Sydney wouldn’t be complete without seeing Ku-Ring-Gai Chase. This national park is located 25 kilometers north of Sydney. The park sees around two million visitors each year.
The Hawkesbury River flows out to the sea through this park. Bushwalks that cater to all levels of fitness, horse riding, swimming and boating can all be enjoyed.
The park is home to many sacred Aboriginal sites, there are rock paintings and engravings scattered across the park. The resolute track will take your through many of these locations.
The television series, Skippy, The Bush Kangaroo filmed many scenes within the park.
There is a kiosk on site and several picnic areas with BBQ facilities. Bobbin Head is a great spot for lunch. Alternatively, take a ferry to the Basin for a picnic and a swim. Camping is only allowed in the Basin area.
