Collaroy Beach can be found in Sydney’s northern suburbs. Its white sand and crystal waters make it one of the most picturesque beaches in Sydney. What draws many to its shores though are the excellent conditions for surfing. Many backpackers head to Collaroy Beach, along with tourists and locals alike.
If you are giving surfing a try for the first time, then Collaroy is a great place to do it. The conditions are perfect for beginners, with north easterly winds that promise small to medium sized waves when the conditions are right. It’s also great for swimming, with a separate area set up during patrol times.
Collaroy is a patrolled beach during the summer months. You’ll find plenty of facilities there including electric BBQs, picnic areas, shaded play equipment and toilets. There is also a swimming pool.
Collaroy is 22 kilometers north east of Sydney. It can be reached through the local bus system in around thirty five minutes. Car parking is available.
