Government House
Government House is situated within the Botanic Gardens. It is a Gothic revival building constructed in 1837 to 1845. Since the Governor is no longer in residence, the building is open to the public. The State Rooms were decorated in 1879 by Lyon, Cottier & Co as part of the Sydney International Exhibition. Parliament House
This the oldest Parliament House and was developed around one of the original “Rum Hospitals”. The building includes two restored legislative chambers. Visitors are allowed in one weekdays from 9 - 4. Macquarie Street, (9230 2111).

Town Hall
The Town Hall was constructed to celebrate Sydney's centenary in 1888 and is an imposing edifice, both outside and in. It contains an 8,000-pipe organ, one of the largest in the world, and there are free lunchtime organ recitals held frequently. George Street. (9265 9007).
