Bungan beach

An unspoilt haven of sand, sun and bush land can be found just north of Sydney. The headland reserve adjoins Betty Morrison reserve, both are havens for local flora and fauna. The beach itself runs 600 meters long.

Perfect for a picnic, bushwalk and swim. The conditions at Bungan beach are also ideal for surfing and fishing. There are two strong rips against the rocks at either end of the beach and also shifting rips which occur at different locations in the water. During summer this is a patrolled beach, so remember to swim between the flags.

There are several walking tracks through the nature reserve and also a natural lookout at the 103 meter summit of Bushranger’s Hill.

Bungan beach is a 45 kilometer drive north of Sydney. It’s visited less by tourists than other beaches, so a great option if you are looking to escape the crowds.
