Australian Museum

The Australian Museum is a collection of works and exhibits which serve to educate and reflect on the natural history of Australia and its indigenous cultures. Conveniently located in the centre of Sydney, it makes a great option for a rainy day or just a fun excursion that kids will love.

There are many permanent exhibitions as well as a few which change throughout the year. From museum mommies to close-ups with insects to a journey through aboriginal history, the Australian Museum always offers something new and exciting to explore.

Much of the museum is interactive, with displays aimed at catching the attention and imaginations of children. This is must see if you are visiting Sydney with children.

The museum is located at 6 College Street, Sydney. It is on the corner or William street and only a five minute walk from the centre of the city. The nearest train stations are St James, Museum and Town Hall. The Sydney Explorer bus stops at the museum. There is metered parking in nearby streets and a multi level car park on Riley Street where museum visitors may be eligible for a discount.

Admission charges apply.
