Chinatown in Haymarket is always a lively and vibrant part of Sydney, none more so than on Friday nights for their Night Market. There are over 60 stalls and all the stallholders dress up every Friday night! One of the most colourful and cheerful markets, they are even more so magical with the ambiance created by the low wattage lights as part of their commitment to lowering the market’s carbon footprint.
If you love gourmet food, fantastic entertainment, fun and shopping, then this is the market for you! There is just about everything for sale here and some uniquely Chinese and Oriental fabrics, jewellery, art and knick-knacks as well Western art, crafts, photography, prints, music, wellbeing and massage stalls, clothing, shoes, bags and accessories.
A large area of home wares, cooking utensils, woks, stoneware, and wood work as well as all the spices, herbs, accompaniments, fresh food and vegetables, sweets and more can be found in this eclectic and fabulous night market.
Well worth a visit if you are in town on holidays or a local grabbing a bite to eat and drink on their way home from work!
